Dog Walking, Pet Sitting and More
My name is Lori Mikesell and I am the original Crazy Dog Lady and owner of “The Crazy Dog Ladies” Pet Sitting Service. The Crazy Dog Ladies was an idea born when my family was going on vacation and we needed pet care for our four dogs.
We realized not only the expense of boarding four of them, but the extra time in dropping off and picking up (resulting in added costs for extra days), ensuring shots were up to date (finding the shot records!), and despite some great staffs and facilities, a kennel environment is not the same as home sweet home. At that time, my two “old ladies,” Trinidad and Tobago, were 91 years old and would have much preferred staying home while their people were away.
It was then that I began to formulate the concept of daily visits to the pet’s home to keep them comfortable, cared for and active in their own environment while their family is on vacation. In 2009, fliers were made and the word-of-mouth started to spread. Contact was made with local vets and groomers in Glendora.
Soon, I got my first clients, for weekly visits to the dog park. And so it began. New clients loved the concept and I love the flexibility and feeling that I am doing something good for the pet owners who can have peace of mind while they are away and for the dogs, cats, bunnies, fish and turtles who have a friendly face and a loving care provider while their people are gone.
I am the original and head Crazy Dog Lady and happy to assist you and your animals while you are awake. I grew up having dogs all of my life and I am often told I have a common effect on even those pups who are weary of strangers. I have no problem jumping the fence and showing my crazy cat lady side as my heart was captured in 2012 when we got our first cat, sweet chester, and then Vladimir and Zoya just heard their way into my heart.
I am a native Los Angeles gal and I have always had a pet or two growing up. I first started with THE CRAZY DOG LADIES and their furry friends in 2013 before moving to seattle. I went to college in Upstate New York and after meeting my husband there, we lived in Denver and Seattle during our married life. We had a beautiful yellow lab for nearly 14 years. In 2017, I return to my Southern California Roots and I’m enjoying the work and exercise with THE CRAZY DOG LADIES and all of the delightful animals I get to meet! My favorite activities include reading, doing volunteer activities and cheering for the Denver Broncos football team.
Yes, we have a crazy dog/cat guy! Bob is a native Glendoran. His heart is fully feline but he loves the canines just as much. He particularly enjoys the big dogs as he showed Champion bloodline pitbulls with his grandfather and father from the time he was a teenager through his twenties. He has the trophies and ribbons to prove it!
